KYC questions, answered.
Why does MediSero+ require KYC?
Medical-grade software handles patient data and signs prescriptions. We have a duty (and increasingly a legal one — ABDM and DPDP Act) to verify that doctors are who they say they are, and licenced where they say they're licenced. KYC also protects you: a verified MediSero account is more trustworthy to insurers, hospitals, and patients.
How long does verification take?
Automated verification (NMC, IMC, GMC) is usually instant. Manual review for edge cases (overseas trained, visiting doctor, recent registration) takes up to 24 hours. You can use parts of the app (queue, vitals, demo data) before full clinical access is unlocked.
What if my licence is from another country?
Tell us at signup. Our compliance team reviews international credentials manually — usually 24-48 hours. We support NMC + every state medical council in India.
Where is my KYC data stored?
In the same region as your clinical data — AWS (ap-south-1) — your data never leaves India. ID documents are encrypted at rest with envelope encryption. Access is limited to the compliance team + automated verifier; every access is audit-logged.
What if my licence expires?
You'll get reminders 90, 30, and 7 days before expiry. If expiry passes, you can still log in and view records, but you can't sign new Rx until you re-upload the renewed licence. We don't want to be the reason you accidentally prescribe on an expired licence.
Can the clinic admin verify on behalf of doctors?
No — each doctor must verify their own identity. The clinic admin can verify the clinic's registration (Clinical Establishment Act, Clinical Establishment Act number), but the doctor's personal KYC must be done by them.
